Kiri Tawhai Art Piece - Is It Gucci? (40x40cm)

This shows the beautiful Lomandra longifolia or the spiny headed mat rush. I was shown by a Wurundjeri woman and she called it Kurawan. There may be a different name depending on the Country you're on.

The leaves are prepared and used to weave beautiful dilly bags. I have represented eels and their movements in the background as the leaves could also be used to weave eel traps representing Wadawurrung Country where I live, play and raise my kids.
